PODSNAP BITES
As part of Podsnap Magazine, Podsnap Bites aspires to offer a series of informational articles coming from two kinds of bites. Bites of the sharp and bothersome type that wake us up and cause a sting or annoyance, lasting a brief or irritatingly long time. And bites of a delicious snack that make us raise our brows and crave more. Once in a while the two types of bites will combine. The bugs get into the bag.
Podsnap Magazine was inspired by my observation and reaction towards the complacency and dismissive qualities that my fellow humans and I display towards the earth and the gifts we have accepted from it.
What is a Podsnap. The term "podsnap" was invented by Charles Dickens when he created the character Mr Podsnap for his satirical novel Our Mutual Friend, published in 1865. According to Webster's English Dictionary, "podsnappery" is defined as "an attitude toward life marked by complacency and a refusal to recognize unpleasant facts."
When I came across the term "podsnappery," I felt it lent itself to a useful play on words suited for rousing an audience of fellow well meaning podsnappers. Podsnap Magazine hopes to spark change from our denial filled & distracted daily routine to the bright outdoor world and its past and present wonders to routine mindful of our exquisite Earth with help from facts we take for granted.
Make it stand out.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
